B2B Brand Positioning: How to Clarify What Makes Your Company Different

A B2B brand positioning framework: who you serve, the alternatives buyers compare you with, the difference you can prove, and how to pressure-test it.
Most B2B positioning problems are not creative problems. They are specificity problems. A page that says you help businesses grow faster is unfalsifiable, and an unfalsifiable claim gives a buyer nothing to compare.
Work through four questions in order. Who exactly is this for — named by role, company stage, or situation? What are they comparing you against — a competitor, an internal build, a spreadsheet, or doing nothing? What is the difference you can prove with evidence rather than adjective? And what does that difference make possible for them?
The answers must fit on one page and survive pressure testing. Show it to three customers: do they recognize their own problem in your words? Show it to three lost deals: does the positioning explain why you lost? Show it to your sales team: can they repeat it without slides?
Positioning only earns its keep when it changes what you build and what you say everywhere — the site, the deck, the pricing page, the first line of an email. If it stays in a document, it isn't positioning yet.
